In the original description (Montemayor, 2009) the life cycle of C. bonaerensis is described, illustrations of nymphs I, II and III are provided as well as scanning electron micrographs of the egg and nymphs IV and V and a photograph of the adult. In this same contribution C. bonaerensis is compared with the other Corythucha whose host plants are Quercus and with the other South American speices. When the population densities are high, they can cause leaf death.
