The type material was deposited in the collection of the National Museum of Rio de Janeiro (MNRJ) so it is presumed that it was lost as a result of the fire that occurred in 2018. There is an illustration of the species and a key for the identification of the species of Corythucha from Argentina in Ajmat (1991). In Montemayor (2009) it is compared this species with the other Corythucha from South America. The references to the distribution of this species are Monte (1940) and Ajmat (1991).
