In the original description (Monte, 1946) the species is illustrated and there is a key to determine some of the species of Phatnoma . In Froeschner (1996) there is summarized information regarding the genus and, a key for the recognition of the Phatnomatini genera. In Carpintero & Montemayor (2008) there is a photograph of the species and a key to identificate the Cantacaderinae from Argentina and Chile and, in (Carpintero & De Biase, 2018), adults of both sexes as well as the nymphs III and V are photographed and described. The species was recorded for the first time for Argentina by Kormilev (1955) in the province of Misiones and later it was also reported for the Buenos Aires province by Carpintero & De Biase (2018). The type material was deposited in the Monte collection at the Museo Nacional de Rio de Janeiro and has been destroyed as a consequence of the fire occurred in the museum in the year 2018.
