Corythaica passiflorae (Berg, 1884) has been, for a long time, wrongly considered a synonymy of C. cyathicollis (Costa) and C. monacha (Stål). Monte (1942) discusses the identity of the species. Montemayor & Melo (2012) also discuss the identity of C. passiflorae , and provide a key for its identification as well as an illustration of the holotype. The species is photographed in Monte (1937) with the name of C. monacha and illustrated in Hurd (1945) and Kogan (1960) with the name of C. cyathicollis .
In order to be certain that the host plants and distributional records provided correspond to C. passiflorae the only references included are those where the holotype of the species was studied or those where the specimens studied are illustrated: Berg (1884), Drake (1936), Monte (1938), and Montemayor & Melo (2012).
