Other distribution
Also known from Brazil and Paraguay (Lent & Wygodzinsky 1979, Ceccarelli et al. 2018).

The eggs of this species are glued to the substratum, eg. pieces forming the birds nests; this prevents the eggs from falling to the ground (Lent & Wygodzinsky 1979).
Holotype and 4 paratypes deposited at IFML (Instituto y Fundación Miguel Lillo, Tucumán, Argentina) (Melo et al. 2018).
This species has been found in nestsof the parrot Myopsitta monacha cotorra where it normally feeds on the birds; nests abandoned by the birds may continue to harbor T. delpontei which then feed on small rodents or didelphids that take over the nests (Lent & Wygodzinsky 1979).
One paratype deposited at Museo de La Plata (MLP) (Coscaron et al. 2015).
