Holotype deposited at MACN (Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales "Bernardino Rivadavia”, Buenos Aires, Argentina (Bachmann 1999).
Occasionally attracted to light or found peridomestically, this species is a sylvatic species; it has been found associated with rodents (Caviidae and Cricetidae) (Lent & Wygodzinsky 1979).
