Also known from Bolivia, Brazil, and Paraguay (Lent & Wygodzinsky 1979, Cecarelli et al. 2018).
 
This species has never been found naturally infected with Trypanosoma cruzi, although it can be infected experimentally (Lent & Wygodzinsky 1979).
Inhabits nests of Phacellodomus sibilatrix Sclater (Furnaridae), Myopsitta monacha cotorra (Psittacidae), Pseudoseisura lophotes (Furnaridae), and other non identified birds. Also collected under the bark of Schinopsis quebracho-colorado (Lent & Wygodzinsky 1979).
