The type material was deposited in the collection of the National Museum of Rio de Janeiro (MNRJ) so it is presumed that it was lost as a result of the fire that occurred in 2018. The species is illustrated in Hurd (1945). There is a key to determine the species of Corythaica in Hurd (1945); and of all the Corythaica from Argentina in Montemayor & Melo (2012). The contributions where there are records of the provinces where the species is distributed are: Monte (1938), Hurd (1945) and Ajmat (2000).
