Disease relations: unknown.
Larvae and pupae of Culex chidesteri have been collected from semipermanent puddles and small lagoons with vegetation (Pistia sp., among others). Larvae and females were registered throughout the year in Chaco Province, Argentina. Females were collected with CDC light traps with UV-light placed in anthropic environment. It has been molecularly detected that the species was feeding on Turdus rufiventris, and Patagioenas picazuro in the temperate region of Argentina (Melgarejo-Colmenares et al., 2024).
