Female Holotype of Lygus fortinensis is deposited at British Museum of Natural History (Carvalho & Dolling 1976).
The specimens studied by Stål in 1860 are deposited at the Swedish Museum of Natural History (Stål 1860) and one of them has been identified as the species´ type.
