Found in Furnarius rufus (Cordero & Vogelsang 1928), and sparrow's nests (Wygodzinsky 1951, Carpintero & Aramburu 2006). Recent works have shown that the actual host of A. furnarii are the inquiline birds of F. rufus nests, such as Agelaioides badius (Icteridae), Passer domesticus (Passeridae), Progne chalybea (Hirundinidae), Sicalis f. pelzelni (Emberizidae), and Troglodytes aedon (Troglodytidae) (Turienzo & Di Iorio ).
Found in a living room flat in La Plata, Buenos Aires (Roth et al. 2023).
