The Male Holotype of Tenthecoris distintus is deposited at U.S. National Museum of Natural History (Hsiao & Sailer 1947).
According to Hsiao & Sailer 1947, the type of Tenthecoris bicolor is deposited at British Museum of Natural History.
This species is considered a harmful agent of Orquidaceae and Amarillidaceae (Bado et al. 2002)
