According to the original description, this species was described based on a male, but the examination of the holotype shows that in fact it is an immature (Coscaron & Melo 2001). This observation was also made by Wygodzinsky (1957), who also suggests that the specimen could belong to a nymph of a species of the genus Empicoris (Emesinae).
Holotype deposited at MACN (Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales "Bernardino Rivadavia”, Buenos Aires, Argentina (Bachmann 1999).
This species was collected on a trunck of Eucalyptus globulus Labill. (Berg 1883).
