In Drake (1922) the species is illustrated. Moreira et al. (2014) describe all nymphal instars, with emphasis on the morphology and ontogenetic development of their integumentary structures providing photographs and scanning electron microscopy photographs. Kormilev (1955) recorded for the first time the species for Argentine in the province of Misiones.
