Gargaphia decoris has been realesed and stablished as a biocontrol agent against the invasive tree Solanum mauritianum in South Africa and is been considered to be realesed in New Zeland (Olckers & Borea, 2009). The species was mentioned for the first time for the province of Misiones in Drake (1938).
