hoffmani Fox, 1946: 251 (female). Type locality: Trinidad. HT F (UPRM). Distr.: Belize, Costa Rica, Cayman Islands, Jamaica to Trinidad, Argentina (Córdoba: 4 km NW Cura Brochero, 31°38'16.68"S, 65°02'10.15"W). Refs.: Spinelli et al., 2021: 406.

Diagnosis.
The cell m2 with an elongate pale spot in front of cubital fork, and the absence of macrotrichia on base of cell m2 are clearly showed in the wing illustration that accompanies the original description of C. hoffmani by Fox (1946, page 253, Fig. 9). On the other hand, it is worth remarking that Wirth & Blanton (1956, 1959) wrongly provide wing illustrations that lack a pale spot in front of cubital fork in cell m2, and the macrotrichia extending in two rows to base of cell m2. The latter situation indicates that the authors have a wrong idea about the presence/absence of the pale spot in front of the cubital fork in cell m2, something that is evidenced in the key of the debilipalpis species group by Vitale et al. (1981), where C. hoffmani is located in the couplet 24 within the species that lack the mentioned pale.
