NOTE: Spinelli (2000, page 70) incorrectly recorded Clastrieromyia dycei Spinelli & Gorgan for Lobos in Buenos Aires and Colonia 25 de Mayo in Buenos Aires and La Pampa provinces, respectively. A detailed reexamination of the specimens (one female for each locality) revealed that they belong to C. uruguayensis. For this reason, these localities are herein attributed to C. uruguayensis, and C. dycei is excluded from the argentinean fauna, being the latter species restricted to its type locality in Uruguay, Tacuarembó, Estancia Ipoa.

Is fully redescribed for Spinelli, et al., 2016 with a modern criterium, from material collected in Buenos Aires and Entre Ríos provinces in Argentina, and Uruguay. The pupa are redescribed and illustrated using moderm terminology. Exhibit elongated and thin anteromedial sensilla, typical of the Palpomyiini genera. Differences with the known pupae of the American species included in the Palpomyia tibialis group are noted for P. pachymera and differences with the remaining Palpomyiini genera are noted for C. dycei.
